Executive, Legislative, and Regulatory Actions at the Federal and State Levels on COVID-19

US Federal

Stimulus Package #1: H.R. 6074, Coronavirus Preparedness and Response Supplemental Appropriations Act, 2020. This $8.3 billion package will fully fund a robust response to coronavirus, including vaccine development, support for state and local governments, and assistance for affected small businesses.

Stimulus Package #2: H.R. 6201, Families First Coronavirus Response Act. The legislation guarantees free coronavirus testing, establishes paid leave, enhances Unemployment Insurance, expands food security initiatives, and increases federal Medicaid funding.

Stimulus Package #3: The U.S. Senate passed H.R. 748 on March 25, which will provide $562 million for the Small Business Administration to provide loans to businesses that need financial support to keep their doors open and pay their employees. The bill is expected to be voted on by the U.S. House on March 27 and be signed by the President. During the process, IHS communicated with the offices of House and Senate leaders, as well as key committees advocating for the inclusion of hearing aid specialists in any small business relief provisions. IHS will provide details once the bill is signed into law. (Update as of 3/26/2020)
