Hearing Aid Assistance Tax Credit Act (H.R. 2329 & S.1410)

The International Hearing Society urges you to support the bipartisan Hearing Aid Assistance Tax Credit Act which was reintroduced by House Representatives Carolyn McCarthy (D-NY) and Vernon Ehlers (D-MI) and in the Senate by Norm Coleman (R-MN). These bills would allow persons over age 55, or parents of a hearing impaired dependent child, a $500 tax credit per hearing instrument purchased once every five years.

This hearing aid tax credit would help countless Americans who need hearing instruments, but simply cannot afford them. The benefits of reducing special education costs for children through increased hearing aid usage are immense, as are the benefits of minimizing psychological and mental disorders associated with untreated hearing loss in older adults. We urge all consumers and hearing professionals to contact your Representative and Senators in support of H.R. 2329 & S.1410.
