Legal Considerations for the Hearing Healthcare Professional

Synopsis:  This course focuses the legal responsibilities associated with the hearing profession. The goal 
of this course is to provide an understanding of the legal issues and obligations of practice management, including the laws and regulations involving people with hearing loss and the hearing industry.  Topics covered include ethics, torts, fraud, and malpractice to name a few.

Learning Objectives:

CE Credit:  This course is pre-approved for 3 credit hours by the International Hearing Society and 0.3 CEU’s by the American Academy of Audiology



The International Hearing Society is approved by the American Academy of Audiology to offer Academy CEUs for this activity. The program is worth a maximum of 0.3 CEUs. Academy approval of this continuing education activity is based on course content only and does not imply endorsement of course content, specific products, or clinical procedure, or adherence of the event to the Academy's Code of Ethics. Any views that are presented are those of the presenter/CE Provider and not necessarily of the American Academy of Audiology.  IHS will coordinate reporting of CEUs to AAA.

Cost: This 3-hour course is available for a $525 honorarium plus travel expenses.
